Meet the Team

Shelli Jones

If you know Shelli Jones, you know she hails from Hershey, Pennsylvania, famously known as “the sweetest place on earth” and affectionately dubbed “Chocolatetown, USA.”

Hershey is also recognized as the American Hockey League (AHL) capital, making it a haven for hockey enthusiasts. It was only fitting that Shelli, a passionate hockey fan, became the first female sports reporter to cover AHL hockey for the Hershey Bears during a time when women were rarely seen in sports journalism. Shelli refused to let sexism stand in her way, paving the path for future female reporters to follow.

After dedicating four years to covering AHL hockey while working her way through college, Shelli transitioned to roles at NPR and PBS. In her time in the PBS programming department, she screened programs, developed broadcast schedules, collaborated with producers, penned articles for PBS magazines, analyzed Nielsen ratings, served on community boards, and worked both behind and in front of the camera during pledge drives.

Eight years later, Shelli seized the opportunity to relocate to Bellingham, WA, where she managed KBCB World Television, a multicultural and multilingual TV station. The station showcased local and international programming in languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Taglish, Punjabi, and Hindi.

Additionally, Shelli launched a second revenue stream for World Television through in-language commercials, opening doors for clients like Toyota, Ford, and Kikkoman to create advertisements tailored for diverse audiences worldwide.

Shelli is also well-known for her eight-year tenure at the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce, where she served as the Marketing Coordinator. During her time there, she introduced numerous value-added programs to the chamber’s schedule, including professional development initiatives and opportunities for members to share their expertise.

Shelli designed sales collateral, created event signage, and even produced the Bellingham-themed Monopoly game, Bellinghamopoly.

Recognizing the need for marketing guidance among chamber member businesses, Shelli founded Manifest-Marketing. “Many small businesses feel lost when it comes to updating their websites or navigating social media. I want to be their support system and help them succeed,” Shelli shares.

Shelli’s unwavering commitment to empowering small businesses continues to inspire others to embrace their unique stories and strengths. At Manifest-Marketing, her vision transcends traditional marketing; it’s about fostering a community where small businesses can thrive and flourish together.
